Preserving Songs:
Oral Histories and Land Protection

August 8, 2001

As generations pass, fewer native peoples in North America know their songs, their languages and histories. Some tribal elders say that in order for native peoples to survive, their traditional ways cannot be forgotten. On this program, we take a look at indigenous oral histories and land preservation.

Featuring:

Phil Klasky, Director of the Storyscape Project; Corbin Harney, Western Shoshone spiritual leader; Matt Leivas, Salt Song Project co-founder; Vivienne Jake, Salt Song Project co-founder.
